Assistance to scaling up school sanitation in Rajasthan

IRC has worked with UNICEF, the government and other institutions in Rajasthan in planning and preparing for scaling up the SSHE (School sanitation and hygiene education programme) to about 50,000 public lower schools in the state. IRC's input has emphasized capacity building, management and behavioural change for improved hygiene.
SSHE international 2004
IRC helped design the contents of a programme that was subsequently funded by DGIS for UNICEF. The proposal focuses on design, trials, learning platforms that will help ensure that quality of SSHE programmes as they begin to expand ('scale up'). IRC will be one of the partners in this multi-country effort.
