Water Aid Australia’s Inclusive WASH programme used three IRC resources on gender in water, sanitation and hygiene in its live webinar on Gender: Women and Girls from 9 to 18 November 2011. A webinar is a seminar that takes place online. Two of these are from our earlier work by Christine Sijbesma and Dick de Jong for the Gender and Water Alliance.
Pocket voting for participation tool used in two recent resource guides

Work from Christine Sijbesma and co-authors on pocket voting for participation from a 2002 publication Methodology for Participatory Assessments with communities, institutions and policy makers (WSP) has been used by two new resource guides in 2011.
Feedback from Nigeria: 2,000 trainees benefitted from simplified manual

Feedback from Nigeria showed that 2,000 trainees benefitted from use of their simplified manual, largely based on an IRC manual on community WASH management, for a one-week training of communities in Nigeria in 2010.

I read your resource book ‘School Sanitation and Hygiene Education – India’, which is written by Marielle Snell, Sunita Ganguly and Kathleen Shordt. This book is not only useful for those who are engaged in the Total Sanitation Programme in India, but also for students and researchers who are engaged in research work in various universities in India.
IRC electronic publications on CD-ROM: helpful move

The IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre has just published a library of all its e-publications in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese (up to this month); it’s also available on a CD-ROM. This is a really helpful move, especially as IRC publications are of such high quality.
Using IRC manual for one-week training of communities in Nigeria

Priscilla M. Achakpa from Nigeria has used half the content of one of the IRC manuals on community water management for a simplified manual that the Women Environmental Programme is using in one-week training programmes for the communities.
