Feedback from Nigeria: 2,000 trainees benefitted from simplified manual
Updated - Wednesday 23 November 2011
Feedback from Nigeria showed that 2,000 trainees benefitted from use of their simplified manual, largely based on an IRC manual on community WASH management, for a one-week training of communities in Nigeria in 2010. Priscilla M Achakpa, Executive Director of the Women Environmental Programme reports that they eventually printed 1,000 copies of the training manual and over 2,000 trainees benefited.
Currently, other organisations such as Community Emergency Response Initiative (CERI) and the Society for Water and Sanitation (NEWSAN) a network of civil society on water and sanitation in Nigeria have used the manual in training their network members across the country. The manual is out of stock right now and they are looking for some resources to update and reprint it again.
